Quality Control

The quality of education is awesome. The methodology of teaching is in accordance with the HEC (Higher Education Commission) requirements.
Academic Quality Control:
Progress Monitoring:
An elaborated system of monitoring the progress of courses had been used in the instituted. The system allows departments to ensure that class instructions are following the course outlines, quizzes and assignments are being conducted at a consistent pace.
Qualitative & Quantitative Controls:
Quantitative measures of academic performance cover operational areas of academic administration. These measures include administration of absences, course progress monitoring, scheduling and planning of courses, coordination with faculty, student counseling, collection and processing of student feedback.
Qualitative measures of academic performance ensure that the contents of the curriculum and the instruction methodology meet the program objectives. Contents of the examination papers correspond to the contents of the respective course outlines. The efforts ensure that these contents meet the desired academic standards with constant and continuous evaluation, revision and development.
External Evaluation:
A system of peer review and external evaluation ensures quality and consistency. The system consists of reviews of the outlines and exam papers by peer faculty members and by external examiners.
Curriculum Design:
Advisory boards consisting of industry professionals, executives and academicians from reputed institutions to review the syllabi and program structures on regular basis. The boards meet once or twice a semester and review the feed back from the industry and the faculty. The boards also incorporate the curriculum development effort of the HEC in the syllabi. Recommendations of the advisory boards are then formalized through the academic council and board of advanced studies and research.
Course Outlines:
Course outlines are developed in a scientific manner with extensive consultation among the faculty, industry experts and prominent professional. The outlines follow the curriculum guidelines of international professional associations such as IEEE Computer Society. These are reviewed each semester keeping in view the demands of the industry and the latest trends and technologies. The course outlines are organized by session and cover the course plan of 48 hours of contact time per 3 credit hour course per semester. The course outlines are topic-wise rather than chapter-wise and each session is highlighted along with textbook reference, making it easy for the faculty and student to be prepared for each class.
Student feedback:
Students evaluate courses in terms of the quality of instruction, course contents, extents of coverage, and use of the teaching aids. This information is combined with the evaluation of courses by peer faculty and department heads to obtain a consolidated view of faculty and teaching.
MIS Support for Quality:
PIMSAT has on integrated management information and decision support system that helps academic and administration departments to ensure the quality of academic and administration systems. MIS helps to monitor, control plan and streamline operations of the Institute and support its rapid expansion.
Registration Systems:
This system automates the registration process at the sort of each semester and maintains fee details, enrollment, skipping, course load, pre-requisites checking, timings, conflicts etc.
Fee Collection System:
This system maintains the history of fee payments, fee bills, advances, adjustments, concessions, fines, and scholarships. It provides an up to date status of receivables and collections.
Medium Of Instructions:
English is the medium of instructions in PIMSAT. Students may however, give paper of Islamic studies in Urdu
Attendance Policy:
Minimum Class Attendance requirement is 75% in each subject. Students are required to attend regularly all lectures, laboratory sessions, seminar and field work as may be specified for each course in semester. A student having less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to appear in the final examination.
