Indeed it is an honour for me to join a promising institute of management science, engineering and
technology in the private sector in the capacity of Rector of PIMSAT. A sizeable number of students
are graduating every year and playing their role in the comity of private and public sectors. Karachi
being the economic hub of Pakistan has immense potential of leading from the front in all spheres of
life. The prevailing state affairs in the country poses a great challenge of economic development.
The academia in general and PIMSAT faculty in particular needs to accept this challenge and pour a drop
of water into the sea through producing leaders of tomorrow.
Looking at this closely, while comprehending that challenges are compounding, in between realizing
the fact that life is full of challenges, I have accepted the challenge of transforming this institute into
one of the best institute of excellence through hard work on pressing needs including review of
academic models being taught, campus diversity, introduction of active student- industry relationship,
need based industrial based research conducted. Not only this, special capacity building
vocational training courses shall also be introduced for the under privileged students. I believe in the
power of dreams, I could dream and envision that PIMSAT would be ready to turn a corner from this
challenging situation into one where we can make a difference in introducing new trends commensurate
with 21 st Century requirements. That’s how things look like in next couple of years.
We have lot to look forward to, as we stand today facing a challenging environment. That new approach
includes an exploration of online classes; introduction of IT based learning platforms students, faculty
and other staff.
I wish a successful stay to all students, while we the faculty and staff would be there to creating a
conducive environment of learning at its best.
